Unlike other upgrade components, jewels are able to be swapped with a jewel of the same kind without destroying it. However you can only swap out a jewel in an equipment piece only once.

Utilizing more jewels in a move will make it more smooth and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. The jewels also improve performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so that the repeated friction caused by pivots does not damage them.

In addition to the above upgrades additionally, players can get glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster.
