The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover
The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detector) are both positives.
Be sure to regularly examine the brushes of your robot for hair that is tangled and large particles, and wash them when needed. Some models can also automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic cleaner and mop vacuums we've examined. They feature motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.
Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.
However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to offer cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to pull back and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum cleaners reviews vacuum/mop to sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of rooms and floors with mixed flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the rivals. It is one of our most appealing looking best robot cleaner vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only best robot vacuum that mops we tested that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and Best Robot Hoover it boasts its own self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's going to cost you more and create more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and cleans and dry mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.
The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on how dirty they tend to be.
For larger homes it's worth looking for one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one specific area of your home via the app or via voice commands. A stairway mode is useful if you own a lot furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd imagine from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritise your dirtiest rooms to improve performance. The app also provides access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It also has a powerful suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. And you can set up a spot clean that scours a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
