It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work, or school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you have to change the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles like pet hair. This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competition. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers.
