Upgrades are a crucial part of the equipment crafting process. They can boost the quality of an item and make it stronger or weaker, and even give it an added benefit. They can also alter the appearance of an item. Some upgrades are universal while others have rules specific to weapons and armor. The wrong upgrade can ruin the weapon that was previously excellent, and could even render it useless.

In general you can only upgrade an item of equipment to the level of its top-level counterpart. This means that you are able to upgrade the helms, body armors and gloves and shields to the same level as their highest-level counterparts. Weapons can be upgraded to the equivalent of a sword. However, this won't increase the damage output of the weapon and can reduce its value for trading.

To upgrade an item, you need to spend flightstones and crests. The amount of each is contingent on the item's level and slot. Upgrades to a sword, for example will require more flightstones compared to an upgrade to a Cloak. You may also get discounts on the number of flightstones or crests needed to upgrade item an item.

This procedure does not add rune or gem slots to the equipment. However, it does change the dimensions of the equipment. It increases the size of equipment by the size of a creature two categories smaller, for example the Blaster Pistol is deemed Small, whereas an Stormtrooper Armor is Medium.

Examples of internal technology include prostheses or implants. This type of upgrade is different from medical internal technology which aims to restore the natural capabilities. It is the beginning of the process that will alter civilizations fundamentally. The universal upgrade is a lengthy and complex process. However, the process can be divided into two classes: full success and partial failure.

Similar to the way resort upgrades are implemented at Disney and Universal. In the case of WDW the majority of them occur due to operational needs like room availability or overbooking. In the case of Universal the reason could be to transfer guests from one resort to another that is open. This is not meant as a sarcastic comment however in the current climate it may be impossible to avoid.

In contrast to Runes, Sigils and Jewels which can only be applied to specific kinds of equipment (armor trinkets, weapons, or) universal upgrades can be applied to any gear. Additionally, they can be applied to multiple items at a time. They are therefore more versatile than other types of upgrades. This flexibility can be a problem when upgrading items that are on a particular gear path. It will increase the level of items for all items on the route.

Before performing an upgrade, it's important to stop the PowerShell Universal service and delete the existing application files.
