The 10 Most Scariest Things About Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft Upgrades and item upgrade Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance, a weapon with the upgrade template that is ending in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
Item Upgrading (Zzb.Bz) costs crests and the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item upgrader mod, which lets players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level with normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of an item will be available in the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure what will be improved following a reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate possibility of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to place Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The item upgrading system lets players increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When an individual player upgrades the equipment they have it is replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't need it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as a dolphin). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, or other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or reloading speed). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost listed above.
