WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item level upgrade (https://theflatearth.win/wiki/Post:Your_Worst_Nightmare_About_Item_Upgrades_Bring_To_Life) by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade items level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade item coupon and the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It can also be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require various methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items come from a different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut also, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one purpose and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
