In an interview from his locker room, Tyson Fury said he had Covid-19 twice. We already knew about one of those instances — when this bout originally scheduled for July was postponed because of an outbreak in Fury’s camp.

Round 6: Well we’ve got a clear glove issue for Terence but the fight goes on. We’ll see if they get the extra set and make him change between rounds. Avanesyan with a nice right hook, Crawford throws back, but Avanesyan staying in the pocket, and throws back and lands a couple shots himself. Right hook to the body from Crawford. Good uppercuts from Crawford. He’s using those a lot. Avanesyan felt a body shot there, Bud’s turning it up this round. Laser focused at the moment. Uppercut and then back to the body. Avanesyan now getting overwhelmed. DOWN GOES AVANESYAN AND THIS FIGHT IS OVER!

Round 2: Both fighters had their moments and snuck in some clean punches. It’s early, but at least so far, it seems like Wilder is handling the clinch better than last time. We’ll see if that continues later.

Round 5: Bulik winning exchanges and draws blood from Almaayouf’s nose. Almaayouf’s absorbing too many left hands. Almaayouf loses mouthpiece for the second time in the fight. May be trying to buy time. Almaayouf 48, Bulik 47.

On March 1, 2014, Crawford traveled overseas to challenge WBO lightweight world champion Ricky Burns at the Scottish Exhibition Centre in Burns’ native Glasgow, Scotland. The location made no difference. Crawford dominated, winning a wide 12-round unanimous decision to capture his first world title.

But what was expected to be a highly competitive, 50-50 matchup, turned into one of the finest performances fans had witnessed in recent years. Crawford emphatically stamped his place in the history books with a ninth-round TKO over Spence to become the first undisputed welterweight champion of the four-belt era.

However, he will not want to overlook the hard-hitting Uzbek, AKA ‘The Dream’, an accomplished former amateur whom promoter Eddie Hearn says will provide the toughest test of Crawford’s career to date.

Former world champion Carl Frampton on TNT Sports: "That was one of the best boxing performances I have ever seen. I've seen many over the years but to make an elite fighter like Errol Spence look not elite, very ordinary at times, was very special."

Belt exchanges like these are common but seldom seen in public. Boxing’s sanctioning bodies will make new belts for Crawford, who is now 40-0 with 31 knockouts after Saturday’s emphatic win. Spence, 28-1 with 22 knockouts, will retain his as keepsakes.

"It was a good stoppage," Crawford said of the referee's decision. "I was on the verge of coming back with some hard shots. Everybody knows I'm a great finisher. The ref did what he's supposed to do to protect the fighter."

Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KOs), of Khiva, Uzbekistan, suffered the first defeat of his professional career. He had won the title by beating Magomed Kurbanov via fifth-round TKO in March on the Anthony Joshua-Francis Ngannou undercard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

"They said I wasn’t good enough and I couldn’t beat these welterweights," Crawford said. "I just kept my head to the sky and kept praying to God that I would get the opportunity to show the world how great Terence Crawford is. Tonight, I believe I showed how great I am."

Putin said the Wagner paramilitary group had seized the Ukrainian city with help from Russia’s armed forces after months of bloody fighting that had caused more than 100,000 casualties and reduced the city to ruins.

The postfight ritual hinged on the premise that sold the fight — that Crawford, 35, and Spence, 33, are both champions. But only Crawford is the undisputed champion. The win on Saturday, in which he landed twice as many punches as Spence did, makes him the first welterweight to hold titles from all four major sanctioning bodies.

Fury holds the WBC belt while Usyk will enter the ring with the WBA, WBO and IBF titles. Usyk fulfilled his WBA mandatory obligation in August with a ninth-round KO of Daniel Dubois. Next up in the rotation is the IBF.

"terence crawford best fight Crawford is a generational talent, but he'll have his hands full against the 'Mean Machine,'" Top Rank chairman Bob Arum said. "Teofimo Lopez is taking a giant step up against Commey, and it will be a tremendous fight. Mick Conlan has been asking for Nikitin since the day he signed with Top Rank. He finally gets his wish, and I know he wants to correct the tremendous injustice of the Rio Olympics."

"In terms of fighting Tyson Fury, it can happen. Joshua losing has taken away the belts and he is damaged goods now. But people would still buy into that fight. It can happen and it can happen in the UK.

Crawford’s 2011 consisted of a first-round TKO of Anthony Mora in February and a second-round TKO over Derrick Campos in July before ending the year with an eight-round unanimous decision over Angel Rios.
