Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Usually, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases like Eth titans don't change much in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or gotten from missions and chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the necessary component or materials.

There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component can destroy it, excluding the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, but the required materials aren't as high. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a handful of essential items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This will enable the item to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it can be eligible to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available is contingent on the type of Best item upgrader it is. For example the rare or exclusive weapon with a normal base will have only two affixes available for it and legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to reach its max level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of material however it will have a lower chance of success.

Engineers may utilize a level to measure the height of the building with a known point, such as an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method guarantees that the buildings are constructed with the highest level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial part of the game, and it can increase an item's damage, strength or other attributes. This can be done via the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item upgrading. Rerolling can be costly and should only be used in rare cases.

Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or another Best item upgrade of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a great or bad thing depending on your requirements and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the greater your chance of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also features several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a character without spending lots of money.

(Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the required items to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also increase the defense of armor with an updated appearance.
