The 10 Scariest Things About Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
item upgrade upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base while items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they are upgraded.
To upgrade an item of armor, the player has to choose it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the required component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.
There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from the previous versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item upgrading is able to be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however, the materials needed aren't as high. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of essential items and maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
Once an item has been completed in this way, it is capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to the maximum level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes available depends on the item's base. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.
If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will result in less chance of success.
To measure the height of a structure, engineers will employ an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point, like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level and then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to a high degree of precision and security.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important aspect of the game, and it can increase the damage, strength, or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling is costly and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item upgrader. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item level upgrade.
Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could be equipped with a special fixed-value bonus that boosts its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the greater the chance of receiving the bonus of a different kind.
The game also comes with several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on a unit. This is a good method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can be different sizes, contain no elements, or only contain one element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Some are worth upgrading, others are not. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the stats of the item when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you own lots of weapons or armor pieces already.
Certain set items are upgraded for their own special functions which can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are two examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into parity with their levels. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
To see if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on the screen of their character. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.
In general the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have spell/weapon damage glyphs, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will provide a significant increase in their power. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
