It's thus susceptible to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective at mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models of the rivals. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, best robot hoover like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to sleep.

It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app also gives access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes.
